It is very educating to work in a food and nutrition factory environment. Yes, you learn a lot and many of us learn to change our attitude towards problems.
If there is a quality problem and the root cause is not easily identified, we learn that we cannot just forget about it, talk it away or hope that it will go away by itself or blame it on others. The problem will reappear and pop its ugly head out again and again. This will often mean scrapped products and disturbances in the supply chain as products cannot be released for the market. In other words, a lot of pressure will be put on the factory and the pressure will increase the longer the problem last.
So, you learn to be proactive and highly active as soon as a problem appear and that you must mobilize all resources that can help identifying and eliminate the problem. You also learn you must work together and not play the blame game to ensure focus on the problem solving.
The task is simply finding the root cause, eliminate the problem and make sure it does not happen again. Simply enough but sometimes very difficult to do as the devil often is in the detail.
This valuable attitude you learn towards tackling problems is something you can use in your personal life and during your entire carrier. Except if you are going into politics of course 👽
