Cows have an amazing digestion system. They can turn cellulose (wood) into food, milk and meat.

As your nutritional brand represents your image and is your most precious value, it can be challenging to expand and improve your product portfolio when you need to put your trust in a 3rd party manufacturer’s hands.

Values become more and more important as the younger generations enters our workspace and customer groups. 

Investments in manufacturing or filling Dairy and Nutritional products are very expensive.

Strategy in the Dairy Cooperative world is different from strategies in most companies.

Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a serious gastrointestinal problem that mostly affects premature babies.

We’re thrilled to share that Valio, the leading dairy company in Finland, partnered with NutriXperts to deliver a tailor-made food safety and quality awareness training program for their diverse infant formula team in Lapinlahti.

In Asia we have noticed less demand for consultants than in the rest of the world. This seems strange as we see the strong need here with so many opportunities for us to add great value.

In infant formula, the use of DHA and ARA is challenging, as these fatty acids are prone to oxidation which may lead to off-notes in the finished formula product during shelf life.

DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays a crucial role in brain development, particularly during infancy and early childhood.

Once again, reality reminds us that for all infant formula manufacturing companies despite their reputation, size, self-understanding, experience, the risk of contamination of infant formula by Cronobacter sakazakii is always present.

With a 2023 full of conflicts and wars behind us it is sad to see that it all carries on into 2024.

In the end of 1980’s as a young man, I worked for Nestlé in Denmark. We were manufacturing and exporting infant formula to many countries one of them being Island. At that time approximately 50 to 75% of cases of neonatal meningitis and septicaemia cases were  considered caused by E.

We all know how costly it is to have a reappearing quality problem in a factory. We also know how much pressure that can be put on the factory staff to solve the issue fast.

It is very educating to work in a food and nutrition factory environment. Yes, you learn a lot and many of us learn to change our attitude towards problems.

Leaders at the US Food and Drug Administration have issued a new call to action to the infant formula industry to protect babies from Illnesses caused by Salmonella and Cronobacter Sakazakii Bacteria.
