In our last post we wrote about “sense of urgency”. If you have a problem or important task to complete  it is important to demonstrate a “sense of urgency”. Managers are evaluated based on their ability to solve problems and solve them fast. More than once we have seen a manager losing his/her job because solving a stubborn problem took too long time and the problem became too costly. Often, they tried to solve the problem on their own instead of managing the problem and get help to solve it.

Looking at the problem it is always good to ask; who can help me? Who knows? Who has time to give the extra effort needed? Obviously, it should be someone that has the knowledge, experience, and time. Sometimes the solution is also not clear and the root cause needs to be identified before the right solution is found.
